So while you may now understand the process behind this form of social media ad creation, we also think it’s important to further delve into the exact reasons why you should consider Facebook as a major component in your advertising campaign.
To understand the significance of Facebook ads, we’ll first present some very illuminating figures provided to us by digital metrics leader, comScore. For starters, there were a total of 1.1 trillion internet advertisements running in the first quarter of 2011 alone, and what’s really of note here is the number of Facebook ad impressions recorded during that time: 346 billion.
This is a whopping figure. In fact, it’s such a huge number that it comprises roughly 1/3 of all impressions. In other words, not only has Facebook managed to nearly double their market share since 2010 (from 16.2% to 31.2%), they’ve managed to completely outpace all competitors, including Google, Microsoft and Yahoo!

In fact, although Yahoo! comes in at second place, it commands only 10% of the market share. What we’re witnessing here is a total shutout!
