So You Want to Start a Bookmarklet Collection…
How do you get in on the ultra convenient and exciting world of bookmarklets? It depends on what browser you use to explore the web. With Google Chrome, you just drag a link into your Bookmarks Bar and click the resulting bookmark.
Firefox users can right-click on a link and choose “Bookmark This Link,” which can then be accessed through the bookmarks menu. The process for Internet Explorer users is similar: You right-click a link and choose “Add to Favorites.” It is worth noting that users have complained that recent I.E. updates have made it a bit more difficult to utilize bookmarklets. You may need to add websites to the “Trusted Zone” before they work.
Want to find out how many pages of a website are indexed in Google at record-breaking speed using Google Chrome?
- Click and drag this link into your Chrome bookmarks bar: GG Indexed Pages
- Visit the website you intend to look up.
- Click on your new bookmark(let).
- Enjoy the results.
There’s no shortage of useful bookmarklets out there. How about some instant SEMrush data? Tweet searches for references to your website? Check Tweets. If you can think of a regular internet-browsing process to streamline, there’s likely bookmarklets out there that do the trick.
